In-Depth Platform Analysis & Coverage
EON operates as the flagship multi-screen virtual MVPD and direct-to-consumer digital distribution service deployed across Southeast Europe by United Group, operating under regional telecommunications brands SBB in Serbia, Telemach in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, and Vivacom in Bulgaria. Engineered as a cloud-based hybrid broadcast solution, the platform provides linear network carriage for up to 230 live television channels alongside an on-demand Video Klub vault exceeding 29,000 titles. The athletic rights portfolio centers on proprietary linear feeds from the Sport Klub network, delivering exclusive regional live digital telecasts of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, BKT EuroCup, German Bundesliga, Formula 1, MotoGP, ATP/WTA tennis tours, and regional basketball championships including the ABA League. App transmission outputs in adaptive 1080p Full HD video at 50fps, with select marquee sporting events transmitted in native 4K Ultra HD via the dedicated EON Smart Box.
From a technical perspective, platform architecture integrates an electronic program guide with automated 7-day backward catch-up replay, live pause, and timeline scrubbing, though persistent personal Cloud DVR recording storage is omitted from the application. Hardware concurrency authorizes up to three simultaneous active streams across five registered user devices per account, with multi-room expansion managed via managed Android TV hybrid set-top units. Digital telecasts enforce strict territorial IP geo-blocking, segmenting channel packages and carriage rights to verified domestic residential connections within each operating nation and restricting cross-border viewing outside licensed Balkan jurisdictions.
