About UFC
Watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) live across its 43-event annual calendar (spanning 13 featured numbered championship cards and 30 UFC Fight Night events) now centers on a landmark US broadcast shift. Under a seven-year, $7.7 billion rights agreement, Paramount+ ($7.99 to $12.99/month) replaced ESPN+ as the exclusive United States streaming home of the UFC, streaming every numbered main card, Prelim, and Fight Night live with zero extra pay-per-view fees alongside select network simulcasts on CBS and CBS Sports Network. Internationally, live UFC events air on TNT Sports (via HBO Max UK and Discovery+) in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sportsnet+ and TVA+ in Canada, 10 Play / Paramount+ and Kayo Sports / Foxtel Main Event in Australia, DAZN in Germany and Italy, RMC Sport in France, HBO Max Spain and Eurosport in Spain, U-NEXT in Japan, and STARZPLAY across the Middle East, while UFC Fight Pass ($9.99/month) streams live Early Prelims and the 20,000+ fight library worldwide.
Divisional World Champions & Octagon Superstars across All 11 Weight Classes
Owned and operated by TKO Group Holdings under CEO Dana White, the UFC roster features the highest-ranked pound-for-pound mixed martial artists competing across eight men's and three women's weight classes:
- Heavyweight to Welterweight (265 lbs to 170 lbs): Heavyweight Champion Ciryl Gane (elevated to undisputed status after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt) alongside contenders Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes; Light Heavyweight Champion Carlos Ulberg alongside knockout artist Alex Pereira, Magomed Ankalaev, and Jiri Prochazka; Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland alongside Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev; and Welterweight Champion and pound-for-pound king Islam Makhachev alongside Belal Muhammad, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Jack Della Maddalena.
- Lightweight to Flyweight (155 lbs to 125 lbs): Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje alongside Ilia Topuria, Charles Oliveira, and Arman Tsarukyan; Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski alongside Max Holloway and Diego Lopes; Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan alongside Merab Dvalishvili, Sean O'Malley, and Umar Nurmagomedov; and Flyweight Champion Joshua Van alongside Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Moreno.
- Women's Divisions (135 lbs to 115 lbs): Women's Bantamweight Champion and two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison alongside Julianna Pena; Women's Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko alongside Alexa Grasso and Manon Fiorot; and Women's Strawweight Champion Mackenzie Dern alongside former two-time champion Zhang Weili and Tatiana Suarez.
Three-Tier Card Structure (Early Prelims, Prelims, Main Card) & Unified Octagon Rules
Every Saturday UFC card is split into three distinct broadcast windows: Early Prelims (typically 6:00 PM ET), Prelims (8:00 PM ET), and the five-fight Main Card (10:00 PM ET for North American arenas, with earlier local primetime windows for cards in London, Paris, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Sydney). Bouts take place inside the eight-sided Octagon under the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. Standard non-title undercard bouts contest three five-minute rounds, whereas all UFC World Championship bouts and all non-title UFC Fight Night main events run five five-minute rounds with a one-minute rest period between rounds.
UFC Streaming Pricing, Zero-PPV Paramount+ Rules & Subscription Traps to Avoid
- United States (Do Not Subscribe to ESPN+ for Live UFC): Legacy ESPN+ subscriptions and $79.99 pay-per-view add-ons no longer carry UFC events. Both Paramount+ plans ($7.99/month Essential and $12.99/month Paramount+ with Showtime) unlock all 13 numbered UFC main cards, Prelims, and all 30 UFC Fight Nights at no additional PPV cost. Selected featured numbered cards and Fight Nights also air on linear TV via CBS and CBS Sports Network (available on cord-cutting bundles like YouTube TV, Fubo, DIRECTV Stream, and Hulu + Live TV).
- United Kingdom, Ireland & Canada: In the UK and Ireland, TNT Sports (streamed via HBO Max UK or Discovery+) broadcasts UFC Fight Nights and numbered events live on TNT Sports 1 through 4. In Canada, Sportsnet+ (English) and TVA+ / TVA Sports (French) carry live UFC Fight Nights and Prelims, while numbered main cards require a standalone PPV purchase through Sportsnet+, UFC Fight Pass, or major Canadian cable providers.
- Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Japan & MENA: In Australia, UFC Fight Nights and numbered card Prelims stream free on 10 Play and on Paramount+, as well as on Kayo Sports and Foxtel (via ESPN Australia), while numbered main cards are sold on pay-per-view via Main Event on Kayo/Foxtel and UFC Fight Pass. In New Zealand, Sky Sport Now and Sky Arena carry live cards. Across Europe, Asia, and MENA, all numbered cards and Fight Nights stream inside standard sports subscriptions on DAZN (Germany and Italy), RMC Sport (France), HBO Max Spain (Spain), Polsat Box Go (Poland), Videoland (Netherlands), Arena Cloud (Balkans), U-NEXT (Japan), Sony LIV (India), and STARZPLAY (Saudi Arabia and UAE).
