The regular season is in the final stretch, with the playoffs coming up.

Top teams

Maccabi Tel Aviv is the dominant force in Israeli basketball. They've won the most titles and regularly compete in the EuroLeague. The league is top-heavy, with Maccabi Tel Aviv winning most titles in recent years.

Format

The league has 12 teams. Each plays each other twice in the regular season. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs. The quarterfinals and semifinals are best-of-five series. The final is a best-of-five series for the championship. The bottom two teams are relegated to the National League. The format rewards regular-season performance while leaving room for upsets.
