Expert Review & Verdict

The Verdict
Our Verdict: MAXtv Go functions as the TV Everywhere multiscreen streaming platform and companion app for Hrvatski Telekom's flagship MAXtv ecosystem in Croatia. It commands exclusive domestic live coverage of the SuperSport HNL via MAXSport 1 and 2, while distributing the entire Arena Sport HR linear suite (Arena Sport 1 through 10) in 1080p 50fps alongside an automated 14-day backward EPG catch-up buffer. However, the service is tied to an underlying MAXtv subscription or the contract-free T Next digital plan (€27.00/mo), concurrent playback is capped at one mobile stream alongside the primary television receiver (with additional streams requiring a €2.26/mo surcharge), and live channels are geoblocked to Croatia under EU cross-border portability limits.

In-Depth Platform Analysis & Coverage
MAXtv Go operates as the direct-to-consumer digital distribution and multiscreen viewing platform for Hrvatski Telekom's pay-television service, transmitting linear broadcast feeds and on-demand assets via adaptive bitrate HLS unicast streams. Built as both a companion extension for set-top box customers and an integrated OTT portal for standalone T Next digital subscribers, the application delivers up to 150 live linear channels across smartphones, tablets, Android TV, Google TV, Apple TV, and web browsers. Its athletic broadcasting portfolio holds a premier position in the Croatian market, carrying proprietary linear carriage of MAXSport 1 and MAXSport 2 for exclusive live telecasts of the Croatian football league (SuperSport HNL) and Croatian Football Cup, alongside complete carriage of Arena Sport 1 HR through Arena Sport 10 HR for the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A, LaLiga, and NBA basketball.
Video transmission outputs up to 1080p high definition operating at 50 frames per second with stereo 2.0 audio encoding. The platform incorporates a 14-day automated backward electronic program guide catch-up archive on major national and sports channels, providing in-player live restart and time-shifting without consuming local hardware storage. Concurrency rules permit 1 mobile or desktop streaming session concurrently with the primary living-room set-top box; authorizing an additional simultaneous client screen requires the Dodatni stream add-on for €2.26/mo. Out-of-home app transmission is geo-fenced to the Republic of Croatia via IP address detection, with cross-border playback enabled across European Union member states for verified domestic residents under statutory EU digital portability regulations.
