In-Depth Platform Analysis & Coverage
EON TV operates as the primary digital multi-screen television and over-the-top streaming platform deployed across Bulgaria by Vivacom, a subsidiary of United Group. Engineered to serve both standalone internet subscribers and bundled residential fiber customers, the service provides linear network carriage for up to 225 channels, including over 135 broadcast feeds in high definition. The athletic broadcast portfolio is anchored by proprietary regional rights agreements: United Group's Diema Sport suite (Diema Sport, Diema Sport 2, Diema Sport 3, and Nova Sport) delivers exclusive live coverage of the Bulgarian First Professional Football League, English Premier League, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Formula 1, and NBA basketball. Through reciprocal wholesale carriage, EON also integrates A1 Bulgaria's MAX Sport lineup (MAX Sport 1 through 4), securing complete digital telecasts of the UEFA Champions League, Italian Serie A, Spanish LaLiga, MotoGP, and ATP Tour tennis.
From a technical perspective, digital streams transmit in adaptive 1080p Full HD video at 50fps, with select marquee sports events simulcast in native 4K Ultra HD on the EON Smart Box. The software architecture incorporates an interactive electronic program guide, live pause, and an automated 7-day backward catch-up replay engine across linear channels, although personal cloud DVR recording storage is omitted from the application. Hardware concurrency allows up to three simultaneous active streams across registered devices for standard entertainment programming; however, live sports carriage across DiemaXtra and MAX Sport Plus strictly caps playback at one active screen per account during live digital telecasts. Digital telecasts enforce strict national IP geo-blocking, locking digital telecasts to Bulgaria while permitting verified temporary European Union cross-border roaming under EU Portability regulations.
