Expert Review & Verdict
Stream2Watch Sports Editorial Desk • Audited October 2026
The Verdict
Our Verdict: ViX is the definitive streaming home for the US Hispanic market and Latin America, but it requires some patience. If you want Liga MX, UEFA Champions League matches in Spanish, or Televisa's deep catalog of novelas, it is an indispensable utility. However, the interface tries to combine FAST channels, live sports, and VOD into one cluttered layout, and the free tier carries an aggressive ad load.

In-Depth Platform Analysis & Coverage
TelevisaUnivision built ViX to consolidate its extensive media properties into a single direct-to-consumer platform. The ad-supported free tier (ViX Gratis) offers dozens of linear FAST channels alongside an expansive archive of classic telenovelas, talk shows, and news broadcasts from Univision Noticias and Noticieros Televisa.
For sports enthusiasts, ViX Premium is the centerpiece. In the US, it delivers extensive Spanish-language live coverage of Liga MX, Liga MX Femenil, the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and select NFL simulcasts. When clubs like América, Chivas, or Cruz Azul play, ViX provides essential legal streaming coverage without a legacy cable subscription. It also features a growing library of scripted Viaplay/ViX Original series and theatrical releases.
The software experience, however, has noticeable friction points. The electronic program guide and catalog search can be cumbersome to navigate across live television feeds and on-demand replays. In addition, catalog rights differ sharply between the United States, Mexico, and Latin America due to regional licensing, with geo-fencing strictly enforced. Tier options include an ad-supported paid plan (ViX Premium con anuncios at $6.99/mo) and an ad-free plan (ViX Premium sin anuncios at $10.99/mo).
What We Like (Pros)
- Unmatched volume of live Spanish-language football and European competitions
- ViX Gratis provides a massive catalog of free linear TV and telenovelas
- Priced significantly lower than traditional Spanish-language cable packages
- Reliable mobile offline downloads on the ad-free Premium tier
- Expansive archive spanning decades of Televisa and Univision programming
What to Consider (Cons)
- User interface is dense and can make locating match replays frustrating
- Free tier carries a heavy and repetitive commercial load
- Licensing boundaries between US and Mexican catalogs cause regional blackouts
- Live channels and sports broadcasts still contain linear advertising on all plans
- Customer support response times can be sluggish for billing and login issues
