Expert Review & Verdict
Stream2Watch Sports Editorial Desk • Audited October 2026
The Verdict
Our Verdict: MTV Katsomo+ functions as Finland's undisputed flagship sports broadcasting and OTT platform, commanding exclusive domestic live coverage of the Liiga ice hockey championship alongside UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, Serie A, and the World Rally Championship (WRC). Transmitting in 1080p 50fps across linear networks MTV Urheilu 1, 2, and 3, the platform offers an integrated 7-day backward catch-up program guide and unbundled digital access. However, standalone monthly sports pricing reaches €44.95 to €47.95 per month without long-term commitments, client playback enforces a strict ceiling of two concurrent streams with only one stream allowed per single live sports event, and digital app transmission is geo-fenced to Finland under EU roaming regulations.

In-Depth Platform Analysis & Coverage
MTV Katsomo+ serves as the central over-the-top streaming platform and digital virtual multichannel distributor of MTV Oy, operating as a core media asset of Nordic telecommunications giant Telia Company. Following the full technical migration and absorption of the legacy C More Suomi brand, the unified service broadcasts the complete linear portfolio of MTV Oy alongside digital-exclusive event feeds. Its premium athletic portfolio remains the most comprehensive in Finland, providing complete live digital telecasts of all regular season and playoff matchups in the Finnish Liiga, every fixture across the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League, alongside full seasonal coverage of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), Spanish LaLiga EA Sports, Italian Serie A, and SHL Swedish hockey.
Video transmission outputs in 1080p high definition operating at 50 frames per second with stereo 2.0 audio tracks, maintaining dedicated high-bitrate pipelines to eliminate stutter during rapid ice hockey and motorsport action. Broadcast features include an automated 7-day backward electronic program guide catch-up buffer, live restart controls, and an extensive on-demand archive containing complete match replays, condensed highlights, and Finnish studio analysis shows. Concurrency rules permit subscribers to stream on up to two devices simultaneously; however, live athletic broadcasts enforce a strict limit of one active stream per single live sporting event across a subscriber account. Digital app transmission is geo-fenced to Finland via IP address detection, with cross-border playback authorized across European Union member states for verified domestic residents under statutory EU digital portability regulations.
