Live Swiss National League TV & Broadcast Schedule

The Swiss National League (NL) is the top tier of professional ice hockey in Switzerland, widely considered one of the highest-quality and most-attended leagues in Europe. Comprising 14 franchises, the league is celebrated for its fast-tempo, highly skilled play and world-class arenas. Running from September through April, the campaign determines the Swiss national champions through a grueling postseason bracket, generating electric atmospheres that draw elite international imports and NHL prospects to the Swiss ice.

Top teams

The battle for Swiss hockey dominance is fiercely contested, with HC Fribourg-Gottéron entering the season as defending champions after securing their first-ever league championship in a dramatic overtime Game 7 victory against HC Davos in April 2026. Perennial powerhouses ZSC Lions, EV Zug, SC Bern, and Lausanne HC remain constant threats, making the race for the playoffs a tight battle throughout the winter.

Format

The 14 clubs play a 52-game regular-season schedule. The top six teams qualify directly for the play-off quarter-finals, while the seventh to tenth seeds compete in a play-in series. Postseason rounds are contested in best-of-seven series, culminating in the finals in April. At the bottom of the standings, the 13th and 14th-placed teams enter the play-outs, with the loser playing a promotion/relegation series against the Swiss League champion.

Viewership

Swiss hockey commands some of the highest average attendances in European ice hockey, with clubs like SC Bern drawing over 16,000 fans per game to the PostFinance Arena. Digital and pay-TV viewership is massive, supported by premium live coverage across Switzerland's linguistic regions and dedicated sports streaming portals.

Streaming options in Switzerland

In Switzerland, domestic fans can stream every single match live via the official subscription service, MySports, which holds the exclusive rights through the 2034–2035 season and provides live German, French, and Italian commentary. Selected weekly matches and playoff games are broadcast free-to-air on regional networks: CH Media (German), Léman Bleu / La Télé (French), and TeleTicino (Italian). Note that SRG SSR (SRF, RTS, RSI) does not hold the primary rights.

Streaming options in the US

For fans in the United States, all matches can be streamed live via the official MySports platform. Because the service is geoblocked to the domestic Swiss market, American viewers must use a reliable Virtual Private Network (VPN) set to a Swiss server to access the live digital feeds legally.

Streaming options in Canada

Canadian viewers can follow all the action live through the official MySports streaming service. A VPN connection set to a Swiss server is required for Canadian users to bypass geo-restrictions and watch all 52 regular-season rounds and the complete playoff schedule.

International streaming options

Outside of Switzerland, MySports remains the primary destination for live digital feeds, accessible via VPN. In select foreign markets, international hockey networks and betting platforms stream selected games, with online feeds filling regional gaps for global audiences.
