Recent Champions, Top Contenders & Historic Winners

Founded by FIBA Europe in 2002 (replacing the historic Ronchetti Cup), EuroCup Women is the second-tier pan-European professional club basketball competition for women, sitting directly below EuroLeague Women. In the 2025/26 two-legged Championship Final, Turkey's ÇİMSA ÇBK Mersin captured their first-ever European trophy by defeating Greece's Athinaikos Qualco 159-157 on aggregate (led by Finals MVP Kennedy Burke), following ESBVA-LM (Villeneuve-d'Ascq) and London Lions' recent title runs:

• 2025/26 Champions & Runners-Up: ÇİMSA ÇBK Mersin (Turkey, winners of the 2025/26 title after dropping down from EuroLeague Women) and Athinaikos Qualco (Greece, 2010 champions and 2025/26 runners-up).
• Multi-Time & Recent Champions: Russian club Dynamo Kursk, France's Tango Bourges Basket, ASVEL Féminin, and BLMA (Lattes-Montpellier), Spain's Valencia Basket (2021 champions before becoming a EuroLeague Women leading), Turkey's Galatasaray and Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi, and Great Britain's London Lions (unbeaten 2023/24 champions).
• Traditional Contenders Across Europe: Spanish Liga Femenina Endesa clubs (Movistar Estudiantes, Baxi Ferrol, IDK Euskotren, Hozono Global Jairis), French LFB clubs (UFAB 49 Angers, Tarbes, Charnay), Turkish KBSL giants (Beşiktaş, Galatasaray), and Italian Serie A1 contenders (Reyer Venezia, GEAS Basket, Magnolia Campobasso).

48-Team Regular Season, EuroLeague Drop-Downs & Two-Legged Aggregate Knockouts

Unlike EuroLeague Women, which culminates in a single-venue Final Six, EuroCup Women uses a home-and-away aggregate score knockout system all the way through the Championship Final:

• 48-Team Regular Season (12 Groups of 4): Following September qualifiers, 48 clubs are split into 12 four-team groups playing a six-game home-and-away round-robin from October to November.
• 32-Team Combined Seeding & EuroLeague Women Drop-Downs: Four clubs eliminated from the EuroLeague Women Regular Season drop down into the EuroCup Women Play-Off Round 1, joining the top 28 advancing regular-season teams (top 2 from each group plus the 4 best third-place finishers), seeded #1 to #32 by combined record and point differential.
• Two-Legged Home-and-Away Knockouts (Round of 32 to the Final): Every knockout tie-from Play-Off Round 1, Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, and Semi-Finals through the April EuroCup Women Finals-is contested over two legs (one home, one away) decided by combined aggregate score across 80 minutes. Because aggregate points decide the tie, Game 1 can legally end in a tied score without overtime, and overtime is only played at the end of Game 2 if the two-game aggregate score is level.

Where to Watch & Free YouTube Streaming Guide

• Watch Free Worldwide on FIBA YouTube (@FIBA): Unlike most European club competitions, FIBA streams the vast majority of EuroCup Women group and knockout games live and free on the official @FIBA YouTube channel without requiring a paid subscription.
